Project Overview
Tenzing (2026) is an Apple Original Film directed by Jennifer Peedom, telling the story of Tenzing Norgay's decades-long path to the 1953 summit of Mount Everest. The cast includes Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary, Willem Dafoe as Colonel John Hunt, and Genden Phuntsok as Tenzing Norgay. Wilderness Film Productions served as Location Manager for the entire Nepal shoot. Our work covered nine primary locations across the country, from Patan Durbar Square in Kathmandu to villages deep in the Everest region above 3,700 meters. Securing sites like Patan Durbar Square required approval from three separate government agencies over eleven weeks, while filming in the restricted Mustang district needed additional clearance from the Annapurna Conservation Area Project. We managed permits, heritage approvals, and community coordination across every site the production used.Despite the scale and difficulty of terrain involved, the production did not lose a single shooting day in Nepal. This project reflects the kind of ground-level coordination we bring to every international production we support, treating permits and logistics as the foundation of a shoot rather than an afterthought.
